Previous summer’s common protests in opposition to law enforcement brutality — getting position in the midst of a pandemic that has exacted a hefty toll on communities of colour — sparked a national awakening to the poisonous effects of centuries of systemic racism, and put problems similar to racial equity and justice front and heart.
