Knox County school board approves budget with teacher raises

Knox County Colleges staffers will get an 8% increase and teachers a 4% raise after the school board approved a $591.5 million budget for fiscal calendar year 2023. 

Directors prioritized raising teacher pay back and retaining good teachers based on feedback from a group study, Superintendent Bob Thomas mentioned.

Board members voted unanimously to approve the common function funds on Wednesday evening.
