Celebrate CanSat during the online Outreach Event

Due to the worldwide pandemic, physical options to mark this milestone had to be cancelled. In its place, we welcome a worldwide audience to be part of us on 27 September for the On the web CanSat Outreach Celebration to celebrate this amazing college project.  

A decade of CanSat

Launched in 2010, the CanSat university venture issues pupils to in good shape all the big subsystems located in a satellite, such as electric power, sensors, and a communication system, into the quantity and shape of a delicate beverages can. The CanSat is then introduced by a rocket up to an altitude of somewhere around one particular kilometre, or dropped from a platform, drone, or captive balloon. Then its mission starts. This will involve carrying out a scientific experiment and/or a technologies demonstration, attaining a harmless landing, and analysing the data gathered. 

The task has grown from a couple collaborating groups across Europe in 2010 to more than 1500+ college students taking part annually from ESA Member and Affiliate States!

Join us on 27 September for the on-line CanSat Outreach Celebration. In this livestream we’ll examine the CanSat project in depth. We will hear from specialists on essential parts of the challenge and from alumni of past competitions. We even have a unique message from an ESA astronaut! 

Then starting 29 September the 2021 European CanSat Competitors kicks off on the web winners of the national competitions will existing their CanSats to jury users and winners of the European competition will be declared throughout the awards ceremony on 8 Oct.  

The programme for the CanSat Outreach Occasion will include: 

• Welcome and introduction to the CanSat project 
• Information from ESA astronaut  
• Interviews with ESA experts 
• Beginning to establish a CanSat 
• CanSat alumni experience
• Concluding remarks
