Ky. lawmakers move forward education bills on SROs, school board meetings and mental health | News
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) — Two Kentucky training expenditures are pretty much through to Gov. Andy Beshear’s desk.

Rep. Kevin Bratcher, R-Louisville, has been pushing for Home Invoice 63. Announced Thursday early morning, senators added a provision to Bratcher’s monthly bill that would allow college districts to have law enforcement departments, formerly incorporated in Senate Bill 120.
Senators explained these departments will enable for SROs to have prolonged jurisdiction off campus, like college law enforcement departments do. It could also allow for for university districts with police departments to be suitable for federal grants.
“It opens up resources that they could possibly not have to enable them comply with precisely what we want to do and that is to have an officer at every college,” Sen. Danny Carroll, R-Benton, stated.
The other monthly bill listened to ahead of the Senate Education Panel passed unanimously.
