Newburgh Board of Education names incoming school superintendent

The Newburgh Board of Schooling named hired 24-calendar year career educator Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell its superintendent of educational institutions efficient July 1.
Manning Campbell is the assistant superintendent of Student Aid Expert services in the New Rochelle Metropolis College District and beforehand worked as a trainer, principal and administrator in Mount Vernon, White Plains and New York Town.
She mentioned she is ready to take on the obstacle.

Previous Newburgh Superintendent of Colleges Dr. Roberto Padilla was suspended final August following a previous Newburgh educator accused him of sexually harassing her at an out-of-point out meeting in the summertime of 2021.

The district reached a six-figure resignation settlement with Padilla very last December, which involved entire fork out and rewards until eventually December of future calendar year.
The two girls at the heart of his resignation not long ago submitted a lawsuit against him, the district and the board, which is even now ongoing.
The district did not comment on the investigation into Padilla.
Considering that the settlement, Newburgh has faced a wave of student violence and academic concerns.
Manning Campbell hopes to reduce that.
